Childcare Places is a free service for parents taking part in the care-4 childcare voucher scheme and NCMA members. The service gives parents access to high quality, affordable registered or approved childminders and nannies and gives childcarers the opportunity to advertise their vacancies.

About care-4

care-4 is the UK’s premier electronic childcare voucher scheme that enables employers and employees to make savings when using registered and approved childcare.

Briefly, when an employer offers the scheme and an employee commits to regular childcare payment by means of a "salary sacrifice" both parties are exempt from their normal NI contributions on the first £55 per week of salary sacrificed. Employees will also save income tax on this amount. A sum equivalent to the "sacrifice" is then made available for childcare payments to designated, eligible carers from a secure care-4 account but without the administration hassle of paper-based childcare vouchers.

About the National Childminding Association

The National Childminding Association (NCMA) is the only national charity and membership organisation that speaks on behalf of registered and approved childminders and nannies in England and Wales. NCMA promotes quality home-based childcare and education so children, families and communities can benefit from the best in childcare and education.

Working in partnership with the Government, the Welsh Assembly Government, local authorities, Ofsted, the Care and Social Services Inspectorate in Wales and other childcare organisations, NCMA aims to make sure that all childminders and nannies have access to services, training, information and support to enable them to provide a professional service.

NCMA also aims to make sure that everyone who supports home-based childcare has access to the information, training and support they need.
